Apple has released a new OS X Server Preview for testing on OS X Mavericks 10.9.2 computers. Build 13S4076f is a minor incremental update following the release of build 13S4070 last week.

According to people who’ve seen the seed notes, the company asks developers to focus their testing efforts on Profile Manager, where its engineers have made efforts to fix a syntax error issue in migration SQL.

A bunch of known issues still linger. According to testers, these problems remain to be addressed:

Known Issues

- In Profile Manager, the “+” and “-” buttons within the payload editor do not add or remove a payload when administering from an iPad. - In the Xcode Server Web UI, bot creation may skip from Step 2 to Step 4. The workaround is to quit Safari and retry.

OS X Server Preview (Build 13S4076f) is meant to be tested on OS X Mavericks 10.9.2 systems.

Supported Macs include: iMac (Mid 2007 or newer), MacBook (Late 2008 Aluminum, or Early 2009 or newer), MacBook Pro (Mid/Late 2007 or newer), MacBook Air (Late 2008 or newer), Mac mini (Early 2009 or newer), Mac Pro (Early 2008 or newer), Xserve (Early 2009).

The Mac needs at least 2 GB of RAM to be able to handle OS X Server 3.1, and at least 10 GB of available disk space (50 GB if you wish to use Caching Server) to install the software.

Apple tells developers, “Please be aware that you will not be able to revert back to your previous system after updating. Please install this update on a system you are prepared to erase if necessary.”

As the seed before it, this preview supports migrations from OS X Lion Server version 10.7.5 and OS X Server 2.2.2. Users can update from OS X Server 3.0.1 without problems, according to people who’ve tested the software.
