A new version of OS X Server has been released in the Mac App Store and through Software Update packing improvements for Calendar Server, Profile Manager, and other areas of the Server OS.

OS X server version 3.1.2 delivers calendar Server improvements for imports, invites and group scheduling, improvements to Messages Server stability when using Chat Rooms, as well as a number of fixes for Profile Manager deploying profiles containing variables when code signing is enabled.

The official release notes further mention improved Profile Manager reliability for users sending Volume Purchase Program invites and code corrections to enable Profile Manager to properly manage Device Enrollment Program (DEP) systems with long descriptive names.

Apple is offering the 3.1.2 update free of charge for all OS X Server 3 users via Software Update. Newcomers can download OS X Server 3.1.2 from the Mac App Store for $19.99 / €17.99.

The installer supports English, Chinese, Dutch, French, German, Italian, Japanese, Korean, and Spanish and weighs in at approximately 180 MB. OS X Server 3.1.2 calls for the latest version of Mavericks, OS X 10.9.2. Apple does’t mention the inclusion of any security patches, suggesting OS X Server is free of any vulnerabilities at this time.
