As indicated earlier this week, Apple has released a new version of iPhoto to the general population, addressing issues that could cause the software to quit unexpectedly.

The issue at heart is present on computers used by multiple users, with multiple accounts, Apple says.

iPhoto improves overall stability and “addresses an issue that could cause iPhoto to quit unexpectedly on systems with multiple user accounts,” according to the release notes, which also list the changes in iPhoto 9.2 and iPhoto 9.2.2:

Included in Versions 9.2 to 9.2.2 - Photos can now be deleted from Photo Stream - Addresses compatibility with iCloud and iOS 5 - Left and right swipe gestures can now be used to navigate between photos in Magnify (1-up) view - Previously imported photos are now displayed in a separate section of the Import window - Book/calendar themes and card categories can now be selected using a pop-up menu in the carousel view - Resolves an issue that could cause some pages of books to print incorrectly - Rebuilding a library now correctly preserves saved slideshows and books.

The company headquartered at 1 Infinite Loop, Cupertino, California recommends this update to all users of iPhoto '11. The new release applies to systems running Mac OS X 10.6.8 and OS X Lion 10.7.3 or later.

Supported languages include Deutsch, English, Français, Español, Italiano, Nederlands, Dansk, Norsk Bokmål, Polski, Português, Português Brasileiro, Pусский, Suomi, Svensk, Chinese, Japanese and Korean.

iPhoto now boasts Photo Stream, an iCloud component that allows owners of multiple Apple devices to have all their photos with them at all times. For example, if you shoot one image on your iPhone, that image instantly appears in your Mac’s Photo Stream. Thanks to a recent update, individual photo streams can be deleted on any device.
