Aperture 3.0.3 is a free update for existing
Aperture 3 users that improves the overall stability and fixes issues in a number of areas, the company behind Mac OS X has revealed. Weighing in at roughly 70MB, the installer package can be obtained from Apple’s Downloads area, the Software Update mechanism in your Mac’s Apple menu, or from Softpedia.
On its website, Apple
describes the latest update to Aperture saying, “This update improves overall stability and fixes issues in a number of areas.” According to the Mac maker, these key areas include:
- Applying adjustments such as Retouch or Chromatic Aberration;
- Creating and using Raw Fine Tuning presets;
- Viewing, adding and removing detected faces;
- Switching target printers and paper sizes when printing;
- Duplicating Smart Albums;
- Repairing and rebuilding Aperture libraries;
- Reconnecting referenced files;
- Working with GPS track files in Places;
- Searching for keywords in the Query HUD or Keyword Controls. Apple has more to share with its customers regarding this update. A Support document entitled “Aperture 3.0.3: Release notes”
reveals that Apple has done more than apply the aforementioned tweaks and enhancements. The complete list of changes included in Aperture 3.0.3 is broken down in categories like adjustments, Faces, printing, library, slideshows, metadata and, of course, general changes.
Weighing in on the last category, Apple claims that Aperture should now correctly retain the position of Full Screen Filmstrip after relaunch, while images selected using the Select All command should be batch-processed in the correct order now. The update also addresses an issue that could cause watermarks to be displayed incorrectly in the Export Presets window, as well as a problem causing Batch Change to enter data from a previously selected preset when “None” was selected. Several other tweaks and bug fixes are listed.
