New drivers available for Epson printer users

Apple has issued a new batch of printer drivers for Mac OS X 10.6 (Snow Leopard), making the package freely available for download via its website. Including the latest Epson printing and scanning software for Snow Leopard, Epson Printer Drivers v2.1 require Mac OS X v10.6.1, the first (and latest) incremental update to Snow Leopard.

On the Support / Downloads section of its website, Apple describes the Epson Printer Drivers v2.1 for Mac OS X v10.6.1 as follows:

Posted on October 08, 2009, Epson Printer Drivers v2.1 for Mac OS X v10.6.1 is a hefty 288.8MB download whose installer supports multiple languages, including Deutsch, English, Français, Español, Italiano, Nederlands, Dansk, Norsk Bokmål, Polski, Português, Português Brasileiro, Pусский, Suomi, Svensk, Chinese, Japanese and Korean.

“Mac OS X v10.6 Snow Leopard includes software for many printer and scanner models,” Apple says in a separate Support document. “This software can be installed from the Snow Leopard Install DVD, and installed or updated by using Software Update (some models have software available through Software Update only).” It is the case with the Epson Printer Drivers v2.1 for Mac OS X v10.6.1, which are available only via Software Update.
