Apple is said to have stolen a developer’s idea by introducing iAd Gallery, a content-less piece of software that does the simple task of aggregating Apple iAds for those who like to watch them.

An iOS developer whose Ads Tube app did the same thing saw her application rejected by Apple just before the company introduced its own.

Juliana explains that "Ads Tube is a simple browser designed to identify and display all of the new interactive mobile advertisements offered by Apple: the iAds.”

“Ads Tube also incorporates and allows you to explore diverse types of resourceful web information's available through the different categories,” according to the developer.

As reported earlier today, Apple’s iAd Gallery application does pretty much the same thing.

And no one at Softpedia would dare accuse Apple of stealing had Juliana not submitted her app for approval before Apple got a chance to launch their own app.

“Each of the iAds behave like a mini application on its own and gives you the ability to view movie trailers, play online games or download exclusive promotional free content (wallpapers, ringtones …),” Juliana’s description continues.

“While exploring this you will also be exposed to interesting and helpful web material pertaining to the topic of your choosing.”

The description, which very much resembles Apple’s own advertising of the iAd Gallery app, ends with Juliana noting that “Ads tube organizes by categories and gathers all of those features bringing them together in one place!"

The Ads Tube app was rejected on grounds of limited functionality, sources indicate, though Apple’s own iAd Gallery has precisely the same features.

Moreover, both apps have relevant functionality to make it in the App Store - they flash ads, which creates revenue. Guess Apple wanted it all.

We have contacted the developer for clarification on the matter.

Here's her below explaining the functionality of the app.
