The Apple Store Leader Program, "a 24-month immersion in every aspect of managing and operating an Apple Retail Store," is ready to take new recruits, Apple has announced.

“Apple is looking for natural leaders who are creative, smart, dynamic, interesting, authentic, and driven,” the company states. “People who are unwilling to settle for doing anything less than what they love.”

Recruits gain selling skills working as a Specialist and an Expert, as well as the ability to teach and train others as a Creative, or solve problems as a Genius working at the Genius Bar, Apple said.

As candidates progress through the program, they are guided and mentored by a veteran employee, a Market Leader, which has them undergo a variety of training experiences, which involve leadership.

“You'll emerge from the program with world-class leadership skills and the opportunity to secure a leadership position at one of our stores anywhere in the world,” the Cupertino giant promises.

“Our Apple Retail Store teams have a variety of incredibly talented, passionate people with interests as diverse as their personalities,” the Mac maker stresses on its web site.

“These employees will be partners in your development. At Apple, we learn by doing and by working side by side with extraordinary people.”

The company claims that more than 170 million visitors walk through its doors every year.

According to the company’s retail management, Apple opens a new retail store somewhere in the world almost every week.

“In the Apple Store Leader Program, you'll learn how truly innovative retail can be, what it takes to create a transformative and unparalleled customer experience, and become prepared to lead the charge,” the company concludes.

Interview events will be held at universities and colleges during January and February 2011, Apple said, including in countries outside the United States.

The application deadline is March 14th, while program candidate selections end in April.

Recruits get to begin work in Fall.
