Tim Cook just tweeted, “Honored that #Apple is being recognized by the #HRC for our efforts to promote equality. 12th year in a row!”

The response from Human Rights Campaign comes after Cook himself published an op-ed in the Wall Street Journal urging senators to vote on a law that lifts discrimination practices in the work environment.

The Foundation’s 2014 Corporate Equality Index is regarded as “the national benchmarking tool on corporate policies and practices pertinent to lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender employees,” according to the official description on hrc.org.

In its latest report, Apple ranks 17 among 304 major businesses across every industry and geography imaginable. The company snagged a top score of 100 percent and the distinction of “Best Places to Work for LGBT Equality.”

You can go through the full report at this PDF link. It includes a nice letter from Chad Griffin, president of the Human Rights Campaign Foundation.
