Apple is urging iTunes Music followers on Twitter to help Typhoon Haiyan relief efforts by making a donation to the Red Cross through iTunes.

The tweet dished out by Apple comes with a handy iTunes link which takes users directly to the donations page, where generous customers can pledge from $5/€5/£5 to $100/€100/£100.

“Contribute to Philippine Typhoon relief efforts by making a monetary donation to the global Red Cross Crescent network,” reads the announcement.

Apple will transfer the donation to the Red Cross, at which point you will receive an email receipt from the iTunes Store which serves as your only acknowledgement of your donation. Apple also informs customers that iTunes Store credit cannot be used towards a donation.

Since last week, Apple has been featuring a “Philipine Typhoon Relief” banner on the front page of its website.
