Apple announced the financial results for its fiscal 2008 third quarter on July 21, 2008, posting a revenue of $7.46 billion and a net quarterly profit of $1.07 billion, or $1.19 per diluted share. Apple's Q3 2008 ended June 28, 2008. Apple's chief executive officer, Steve Jobs, was “proud to report the best June quarter for both revenue and earnings in Apple's history," de said. "We set a new record for Mac sales, we think we have a real winner with our new iPhone 3G, and we're busy finishing several more wonderful new products to launch in the coming months," Jobs added.

We can expect Jobs to say the same thing, if not better, about the iPhone. With analysts concluding recently that Apple had cruised well passed its self imposed goal of selling 10 million iPhone units this year.

On its web site, Apple urges viewers of its FY 08 Fourth Quarter Results Conference Call to “note that comments made during this call may include forward-looking statements that are subject to risks and uncertainties, and that actual results may differ materially from these forward-looking statements”.
