Company attempts to throw off devs looking for evidence of next-gen hardware

People with access to the new iOS and Xcode betas from Apple have found a high-level file that references bogus devices - a weak attempt on behalf of the Cupertino company to throw off the discovery of designations pertaining to actual-next gen hardware.

But that won’t stop the code-savvy community of hackers and developers with access to the bits from finding those genuine, deep-level files that contain the real references to Apple’s future hardware.

After all, the company does use these betas for internal testing too - they don’t want any surprises after the public release of any future product, do they?

As 9to5mac points out, the move isn’t new. Apple has done this in the past, but never to this extent. The new iOS 5.1 beta can be accessed by paid Apple developers at the company’s iOS Dev Center.
