A paper titled “Report on Government Information Requests” was released by Apple yesterday with the purpose of disclosing information about its relationship with authorities, and how it provides the government with user data when absolutely necessary.

In the lengthy PDF published on its PR section, Apple notes, “We believe that our customers have a right to understand how their personal information is handled, and we consider it our responsibility to provide them with the best privacy protections available.”

The company then reveals its intentions with said report, showing the requests it receives from government agencies “seeking information about individual users or devices in the interest of transparency for our customers around the world.”

As you can imagine, those requests are honored with national security in mind. Apple specifically outlines that it has “no interest in collecting customer data” for its own personal gain.
