Apple is increasing visibility of touchbyte’s PhotoSync iOS application via Twitter, promoting the app as a good solution for wirelessly transferring photos and videos from your iOS device to a Mac or PC, or even to another one of your iOS platforms.

Requiring a freely downloadable companion app on the desktop end, PhotoSync will transform your photo handling forever, according to its developers.

The folks at touchbyte GmbH claim they have on offer “the first app that makes wireless transfer of your photos/videos from/to your Computer and other devices a breeze. You will never want to use a cable again!,” they believe.

Indeed, the app does wonders considering its simple purpose - viewing, transferring, and sharing photos.

“Just select, choose target and you’re done. No need to be in front of your computer or entering IP-Addresses! Sending will continue in the background – even if you receive phone calls or are playing your favorite games,” touchbyte explains.

While the PhotoSync Companion Software is free to download on Mac OS X and Windows, the PhotoSync iOS app costs $1.99 to own.

However, the good part is that you can buy it once and have it installed on all your iOS devices, for example on your iPhone and iPad.

Once you’re all set up, you can transfer photos back and forth between them over a local WiFi network.

“Buy once and use PhotoSync on all your iPhones, iPod touches and iPads,” touchbyte explains. “PhotoSync is optimized for direct transfer between your devices over Wi-Fi and Bluetooth – no computer needed.”

The free PhotoSync companion software for Mac OS X facilitates direct importing into iPhoto and Aperture. And you get Wi-Fi access to your photos/videos wherever you are, as well as the ability to upload your works to Flickr.

However, users will need to have Location Services enabled, so that PhotoSync can access their photo library.

Users are ensured that PhotoSync transmit their current location. In fact, the app can’t even determine it, says touchbyte.

However, for photos that do have location data stored in them, PhotoSync can bring it up via a new feature in Web-interface, thanks to an update released earlier this month.

New stuff in version 1.0.1 also includes an integrated receive button, compatibility fixes for iOS 4.3, and a fixed crash when accessing the Webserver after resuming the application.

PhotoSync is compatible with iPhone, iPod touch, and iPad and requires iOS 4.2 or later.
