Using the Support area of its web site, Apple is handing video professionals a way to compare and transition the workflows they used in FCP 7 over to FCP X - the newest, yet controversial version of Apple’s professional video editing software. There is also a document now that indexes all the training resources available to FCP users.

Describing Final Cut Pro X as “a revolutionary editing application that includes many new concepts and features that are different from those in previous versions of Final Cut Pro,” Apple lays out a document that has been “structured according to the major parts of an editing workflow.

It uses the Final Cut Pro 7 application for comparison “to discuss how to complete important tasks in Final Cut Pro X,” Apple says.

The downloadable PDF weighs just over 300 kilobytes, but contains a wealth of information about using Final Cut Pro, from importing and organizing projects, to applying various editing features and finally exporting a title.

Apple is further trying to dampen all the ratchet surrounding Final Cut Pro X by posting an additional support document that gathers all the training resources available, from the official marketing pages to the Apple Retail Store workshops and even classes held at Apple Authorized Training Center.

Classes are taught by Apple Certified Trainers through a worldwide network of Apple Authorized Training Centers (AATCs).

Workshops are free. These are also taught by “people who really know Apple products and are eager to share their knowledge with you,” according to the Mac maker.

But perhaps the most energy-saving way to get acquainted with FCP X is the Apple Pro Video Series, which offers Apple-certified video training on key Apple technologies.

The Apple Pro Video Series offers Apple-certified video training on key Apple technologies and applications, including Final Cut Pro, Aperture 3, Keynote for iPad, and more.
