Apple has added two new video guided tours addressing those who plan on buying a unit, as well as existing customers looking to learn more about how the device can be used. The two videos have been added to the already available 11 guided tours for other iPad apps, such as Safari, Mail, Photos, iBooks, and the iWork suite.

By posting guided tours, Apple ensures that customers learn the best ways to use their devices, whether it’s a Mac computer, an iPod, or the recently released iPad. The last one borrows a lot from the iPhone, including the operating system, which acts pretty much in the same way on the big, 9.7-inch display. However, applications like Photos, Mail, and Maps offer more features on the iPad, thanks to the increased screen real estate. In fact, Apple cannot stress this enough.

Without fail, the Mac maker reveals how intuitive and useful Maps is on the iPad, thanks to the tablet’s big screen and the Multi-Touch technology that pretty much lets you control the software as if you had the entire world in your hands. The pinch-to-zoom gesture is at its peak in the Maps guided tour as the actor performs it to zoom in on a location in satellite view, then taps the screen to quickly switch to street view. The maps themselves are, of course, provided by Google.

As for the App Store guided tour, everyone can guess what it’s about. Available for almost two years now, the App Store is indeed the best way to browse for apps and download them over the air, onto your device, whether it’s an iPhone, an iPod touch, or the iPad. The video in question shows how customers can easily access the online venue by tapping the App Store icon on their iPad’s home screen. As any iPhone user will tell you, getting just the app you need is only a few taps away. Users can browse by category (Games, Utilities, Books, etc.), release date (including updates to existing titles), popularity (number of downloads and customer ratings), price, etc.
