Not much hope in Apple's CEO popping in

Last week, Apple confirmed that its Q1 2009 financial results conference call would be held at 2PM PT (5PM ET) on Wednesday, January 21. Minutes ago, Apple issued an official report containing all the details for the company's FY 09 First Quarter Results Conference Call.

The Cupertino-based Mac maker reveals that “The conference call will be available as a continuous rebroadcast beginning Wednesday, January 21 at 5:00 p.m. PST/8:00 p.m. EST through Wednesday, February 4 at 5:00 p.m. PST/8:00 p.m. EST. The dial-in number for the rebroadcast is (888) 203-1112 (toll-free), or (719) 457-0820.” The confirmation code is 4939950, for interested parties.

As for the Q1 results conference call webcast, “Apple will provide live audio streaming of its FY 09 First Quarter Results Conference Call utilizing Apple’s industry-leading QuickTime multimedia software,” according to the same report.

“The live webcast will begin at 2:00 p.m. PST on January 21, 2009 at www.apple.com/quicktime/qtv/earningsq109/, and will also be available for replay for approximately two weeks thereafter,” the company explains. To listen to the webcast, you will need at least QuickTime 6 installed on your Mac or PC. Head over to this address for the free download now.

As usual, Apple stresses that the recording is the property of Apple and protected by U.S. copyright law and international treaties. You are strictly prohibited to reproduce or distribute the live streaming, except if Apple gives you the go-ahead in writing. Clarification on any of these details is available at Apple's Public Relations or Investor Relations.

Apple is expected to provide holiday sales figures, as well as insight to future hardware/software plans. New pricing or new marketing strategies may also make the object of the conference. Apple isn't expected to make any straightforward assertions, but merely to provide hints of its future plans. A Q&A with Apple execs is also to be had.

While last week it was believed that Steve Jobs would make an appearance at the event, recent news surrounding the CEO's health have lowered our hopes of seeing him attend it, if only for a few minutes.
