Although analysts firmly uphold that the Apple Peel 520 will be short-lived, GoSolarUSA, Inc. continues to invest in the product, most recently announcing that it inked a distribution agreement with Chinese developer Yosion for exclusive rights to distribute the device in North America.

Under the terms of the agreement, GSLO gains exclusive rights to distribute and sell Yosion’s Apple Peel 520 throughout the US. The accessory is a slip-on case or skin that, given the appropriate software (via jailbreak), can effectively turn any iPod touch into an iPhone.

According to an October 15 report by GSLO, the company’s President and CEO, Tyson Rohde, the agreement with Yosion solidifies GSLO’s relationship with the electronics maker as its exclusive partner for the West.

“The meetings in China have gone exceptionally well,” Rohde said. “We are tremendously excited to have Yosion as a partner and we’re quite confident that the Apple Peel 520 will be just as successful, if not more, in the United States as it has been in China.”

“As anxious as we are to get the Peel into the U.S., American retailers are doubly so,” Rohde said.

“We firmly believe that Yosion’s Apple Peel 520 is the most innovative iPod accessory produced to date, and we are determined to get it on to retail shelves before the holiday season begins,” he added,

According to the CEO, the initial manufacturing run of Yosion’s Apple Peel 520 is already selling out in China.

“Once we have the devices in hand, we plan to begin distributing demonstration models across the country,” he said. “I can now say with absolute certainty that this technology is real, and we can’t wait to show it off.”

In order to conduct due diligence toward additional agreements with Yosion and to further GoSolarUSA’s business relationship with the company, Rohde will remain in China for another week, the October 15 report said.
