Apple is considering an expansion of its Apple Store-in-store program with Walmart subsidiary Sam’s Club, which already sells the iPhone, iPad, and iPod players.

People familiar with the situation said Apple was not content with its existing partnerships (with Best Buy and Target) and that it wanted to expand even more, this time via Sam’s Club.

The discussions are in the early stages, but there’s already a plan B in case things don’t pan out exactly as planned. According to 9to5mac, this plan involves selling Apple’s Macs without Apple Store features.

In other words, the main purpose of these discussions is to introduce the Macintosh line of computers via Sam’s Club, though popular devices like the iPad and iPod will most likely be on display as well.
