An iPhone OS application addressing the needs of WWDC-attending developers has been made available by Apple, a report has confirmed. The software permits those who download and install it to check sessions, mark favorites, receive updates and quickly swipe through days. WWDC10 for iPhone is downloadable solely by WWDC 2010 Conference Ticket holders.

After ensuring they have logged in with their Apple ID and password associated with the developer account they used to activate the conference ticket, developers are offered a download link to the WWDC10 application for iPhone, a report by MacStories reveals. The source suggests the application is quite a looker, noting it is “one of the nicest things Apple has done on the iPhone in a while.” It boasts filtering functions, offers the ability to browse the suggested WWDC locations, and even shows parking-spot availability at San Francisco’s Moscone Center, the Yerba Buena gardens and other locations, according to the report.

Apple doesn’t immediately specify whether the app also runs on iPads, although the final download page should contain this very bit of information. Given it’s an Apple-developed piece of software, it most likely runs on all iPhone OS devices (iPhone, iPod touch, iPad), Softpedia believes. The MacStories report also fails to document this tidbit.

New details about Apple’s WWDC 2010 event have emerged recently, according to a picture gallery by Adam Jackson, flickr user. AppleInsider points out to the photos featuring the WWDC10 banners, which continue to promote this year’s conference as iPhone OS-centered. According to one of the images, Apple has reached four million App Store downloads. The number of apps available for download remains unchanged (since the company’s latest update) – 200,000.

Another picture shows a banner that promotes the iPhone OS 4 Folders feature, showing the Air Sharing, Bento and Evernote applications in an automatically named “Productivity” folder. Apple has coined the term “appvertise,” in relation to its iAd platform, going by another picture posted by Jackson in his gallery. The photographer claims that all photos in his WWDC 2010 gallery have been taken with a Canon G11 and processed with Photoshop CS4 and CameraBag for Mac.

Apple is widely expected to introduce its next-generation iPhone at today’s event, as well as upgrades to its desktop line of Macs, a new LED Cinema Display, Safari 5 and Mac OS X 10.6.4. The Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC) 2010 is set to kick off with a keynote address by CEO Steve Jobs today, June 7, at 10:00 a.m (Pacific). Softpedia will be posting the “event coverage” later today to update its readers on Apple’s new announcements. The conference runs until the end of the week (June 11).
