14 DAY TRIAL // Apple has finally provided official confirmation that its controversial white iPhone 4 is launching tomorrow, April 28 worldwide at retailers, select carriers, and the company’s own brick & mortar stores.
The announcement, which some thought would never arrive, reads:
“Apple today announced that the white iPhone 4 will be available beginning tomorrow. White iPhone 4 models will be available from Apple’s online store (www.apple.com), at Apple’s retail stores, AT&T and Verizon Wireless stores and select Apple Authorized Resellers.”
Commenting on the official launch of the white iPhone 4, Philip Schiller, Apple’s senior vice president of Worldwide Product Marketing, said “The white iPhone 4 has finally arrived and it’s beautiful.”
“We appreciate everyone who has waited patiently while we’ve worked to get every detail right,” added Schiller.
Apple’s press release contains a typically brief description of the product in question.
The company highlights key features for “the most innovative phone in the world,” including the Retina display, touted as the highest resolution display ever built into a phone, and the FaceTime functionality, “which makes video calling a reality.”
On pricing an availability, Apple confirmed that its ivory iPhone 4 will be available in Austria, Australia, Belgium, Canada, China, Czech Republic, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Hong Kong, Ireland, Italy, Japan, Luxembourg, Macau, Netherlands, New Zealand, Norway, Singapore, South Korea, Spain, Switzerland, Sweden, Taiwan, Thailand, UK and the US, beginning Thursday, April 28.
Soon, the white version of the popular smartphone will become available in many more countries, Apple said.
The product is priced the same as the black version, meaning customers will be able to pick one up for $199 for the 16GB model and $299 for the 32GB model with a new two year agreement.
Purchases can be made through the Apple online store, at Apple’s retail stores, AT&T and Verizon Wireless stores, as well as select Apple Authorized Resellers.
