This week, Apple is offering new printing software for OS X customers wielding a relatively new Xerox device or an Epson machine. The downloads are free as always, and support is extended all the way to OS X 10.6 Snow Leopard.

Xerox Printer Drivers v3.0 for OS X weighs in at 66 MB and can be downloaded for free either from Apple Support or Softpedia (at the supplied link). According to Apple, “This download includes the latest Xerox printing and scanning software for OS X Mavericks, OS X Mountain Lion, OS X Lion and Mac OS X v10.6 Snow Leopard.”

The exact system requirements are OS X Mavericks 10.9 and later, OS X Mountain Lion 10.8 and later, OS X Lion 10.7 and later, and Mac OS X 10.6. Supported languages include: Deutsch, English, Français, Español, Italiano, Nederlands, Dansk, Norsk Bokmål, Polski, Português, Português (Brasil), Pусский, Suomi, Svensk, Chinese, Japanese, and Korean.

Epson Printer Drivers v2.16 for OS X is a different story altogether, at least as far as disk space is concerned. A whopping 1.16GB of free storage is required to download the drivers (and perhaps more for the installation process). Apple says the OS requirements are OS X Mountain Lion, OS X Lion, and Mac OS X 10.6 or later. The same languages are supported in the Epson Printer Drivers installer as well.
