Apple has updated two Support documents on its web site, outlining some troubleshooting steps for people who are experiencing problems with the iAd Producer tool.

One of the KB articles (TS5187) says that, when you use iOS 6.x Simulator, iAd Tester may not install. If that happens, Apple wants you to open iOS Simulator, switch to iOS 6 by choosing Hardware > Version > 6.0, tap and hold the iAd tester icon until it enters wiggle mode, then tap the “x” in the upper-left corner of the icon to delete iAd Tester.

At this point, Apple says your iAd Tester will now install properly in iOS 6 Simulator. For iOS 6.1, simply repeat the process.

Support document TS5229 says iBooks Author Widget Tester 1.0.2 (a component of iAd Producer) “may not open on a device after the device has been updated to iOS 7.”

The resolution here is simpler than you may have imagined. All you need to do is “Update to iBooks Author Widget Tester 1.1, which is available with iAd Producer 4.1,” according to the Cupertino giant.
