Over at the iOS Dev Center, those with an active Apple Developer account can freely grab iOS SDK 4.2 and Xcode 3.2.5 without having to subscribe to the company’s $99-a-year iOS Developer Program.

“Registered Apple Developers can download Xcode and iOS SDK, which includes the Xcode IDE, iOS Simulator, and a suite of additional tools for developing apps for iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch,” Apple states.

Previously accessible only to Apple Developers enrolled with the company’s paid program, Xcode and iOS SDK 4.2 is the complete Xcode developer toolset for Mac, iPhone, and iPad. It includes the Xcode IDE, iOS Simulator, and all required tools and frameworks for building Mac OS X and iOS apps.

Members of the Mac Developer Program who wish to submit apps to the upcoming Mac App Store are encouraged download and install the Application Tools package after installing Xcode 3.2.5 and iOS SDK 4.2.

Snow Leopard downloads include Xcode 3.2.5 and iOS SDK 4.2; Xcode 3.2.5 Readme; Application Tools. Other downloads listed by Apple are for the iOS SDK Agreement, and the iPhone Configuration Utility.
