According to the WeiPhone leak making headlines all over the tech blogosphere for the past 24 hours, Apple is leaving out the original iPad in iOS 6, but it is keeping the lower-specced iPhone 3GS aboard.

Posted by device generation from top to bottom, the leaked download links (which currently don’t work) for Apple’s iOS 6 indicate that compatibility starts with the iPhone 3GS and ends with the iPad 3, Cupertino’s newest iDevice.

The currently-inactive links for Apple’s legacy iPhone are the ones below, according to WeiPhone’s Tide (@tidegu on Twitter):

It is interesting to note that Apple’s first iPad is a beast compared to the old iPhone 3GS, both memory-wise, and CPU-wise. The tablet also boasts an impressive battery and shouldn’t pose any problems to iOS 6. Unless, of course, Apple has prepared some features that are limited by the hardware in the original tablet PC.

And there's always a chance WeiPhone's Tide didn't get his hands on all the links. We’ll find out soon enough.
