Apple has promoted Xcode 5.0.1 to “final” status and it is now offering the toolset as a free download for everyone who can access the Mac App Store.
Xcode 5.0.1 has been in development for almost a full year, sharing seeding cycles with OS X Mavericks. Now both pieces of software are available to the public and both are free. Yes, that includes Mavericks too, as strange as it may sound.
The new Xcode includes software development kits (SDKs) for OS X 10.9 Mavericks, OS X 10.8 Mountain Lion, and iOS 7.
New features for OS X Mavericks include: continuous integration bots to build and test your iOS and OS X apps on OS X Server, a Source Control menu to create new remote Git repositories on Mac servers, and Debug Gauge, which displays a live graph of your app’s power consumption.
