A new employee training initiative was announced this weekend during an all-hands-on-deck meeting across US Apple retail stores. The new training program is reportedly focused on creating a career path for new recruits.

Likely spearheaded by Apple’s new Retail Chief, John Browett, the initiative is called “Pathways” and has begun to entice upper level management. The idea is to “foster an improved Apple retail experience for both employees and Apple customers,” according to sources speaking to 9to5mac.

The goal of the program, however, is reportedly to create “an Apple career path for new Apple retail hires.” It even has a logo – “a green iOS icon with a path like, curved arrow formation.”

New hires will be regarded as “training” for their first year in the shop. The program will provide three-times the amount of current core training, and there will be a brand new position for employees dedicated to managing Pathways and other training aspects.
