Apple’s iBooks application for iPhone, iPod touch, and iPad, has received a do-over consisting of minimalistic graphics to match the look and feel of iOS 7.

Nothing new under the sun, as they say. The release of iOS 7 in September spawned the refresh of Apple’s entire arsenal of first-party applications, and iBooks is no exception to the rule.

Despite being rather late, the makeover will certainly be welcomed by many users. According to Apple, “iBooks [3.2] has been updated with a beautiful new design for iOS 7.”

Of course, I’m not one of those users. I prefer the old iBooks with its vibrant wooden shelves. Who says an interface mustn’t mimic reality? No one, that’s who!

But enough ranting. iBooks 3.2 is a free download from iTunes, and you can use it on any iDevice as long as you have iOS 7.0 installed.
