Apple has posted a dedicated Support page for iTunes U, the newly updated service for education.

A two-pane view allows users to choose a topic on the left and see the answers to their questions about iTunes U on the right. Other resources are also provided.

For example, Apple explains how to use the new iTunes U standalone application:

“Access iTunes U on your iPad, iPhone or iPod touch. You can get free courses from the world's leading education institutions, and you can learn from over 500,000 free lectures, videos, books, and other resources on thousands of subjects.”

Below the description, several resources are offered, including a download link to the actual binary, which takes visitors to the iTunes App Store, explanatory articles on iTunes accounts for students, and iTunes U app support.

Another category is iTunes U Course Manager, which details the particularities of the web-based tool that allows instructors to employ iTunes U to create and distribute courses.

“Instructors at K12 school districts as well as colleges and universities whose institutions have an iTunes U site can get access to iTunes U Course Manager through their iTunes U Public Site Manager administrator,” the company explains.

Highlights here include how-to’s on accessing iTunes U Course Manager, the course creation guidelines, creating an instructor profile and a course, editing course settings, creating a podcast with GarageBand, and links to discussions on Apple Support Communities.

Finally, Apple discusses iTunes U Public Site Manager, “the tool that iTunes U site administrators use to manage their public content within the iTunes Store.”

Here users are greeted by knowledge base articles that outline the system requirements and guidelines for iTunes U Public Site Manager, as well as documents on marketing your iTunes U site, common questions, and more.
