Apple has quietly introduced a new service called “My Support Profile,” described by the Mac maker as a one-stop platform to access and manage the products a customer owns. Options include registering a product to see all details available on that model, tracking the repair and support activities, checking on the status of a warranty, and more.

“My Support Profile offers one-stop access to manage your products, support activities, and contact information,” Apple states on the new website.

Those who have an Apple ID can log in to the new site and see all the products registered with that ID.

Products can be added manually by inserting their serial number. Apple offers instructions on how to locate the serial number on any given product, whether it’s a Macintosh computer, an iPad, or an iPhone.

Upon registering a product, customers receive an email from Apple with confirmation that they have successfully completed the registration process.

The service can automatically detect the serial number pertaining to the computer used to access the web site, and allows users to assign nicknames to their items, to make it easier to identify them.

“You can also join VoicePass, so Apple can quickly identify you and provide a fast, personalized experience when you call,” the company adds.

For those who decide to opt for this service, Apple will keep a record of phone support calls, and will provide a list of potential fixes for the issue they’re reporting.

Through the website’s interface, users can also check the status of a repair in that is in progress, as well as view previous repairs or product replacements.

Finally, My Support Profile lists repair activities that have taken place in an Apple retail store for customers who’ve brought in a damaged or faulty product.

Details include the user's request, the service administered and, when the repair process is complete, confirmation of the product’s return.
