Apple is inviting customers to become members of a community where they will fill out detailed surveys concerning the stuff they own so their makers ‘get the complete picture.’ The online tool is called Apple Customer Pulse, and it’s accessible here.

“Apple Customer Pulse is an online community of Apple product users who provide input on a variety of subjects and issues concerning Apple,” reads the brief description over at https://www.applecustomerpulse.com

Apple fans can expect to receive invitations to participate in up to two surveys a month, according to the Cupertino-based Mac maker, while the answers provided by respondents will remain “completely confidential,” Apple promises.

The company also pledges to process the results in aggregate only.

“We require all members to select a USERNAME and PASSWORD to access secure areas of this Web site,” reads another note.

Users can either create a profile on the spot, by entering the email address they used to register as a panel member.

Those who are not yet members will first need to complete the Registration Survey. At the time of this writing, the form was not accessible, likely due to some technical difficulties on the server side.

Speaking of which, Apple-centric site MacRumors reveals in a post covering the same topic that the AppleCustomerPulse.com domain is owned by MarkMonitor.

The domain itself is hosted by research firm Socratic Technologies, according to the rumor site.

In the past year, Apple has shown a growing interest in keeping a close relationship with the customer.

An example is the revamping of the Apple Discussions forums - now Apple Support Communities.

In September, last year, Apple also launched an ingeniously-crafted support site tasked with helping customers to pinpoint potential issues with their products. The service is called Express Lane.

Finally, Apple recently introduced AppleSeed - Software Customer Seeding, a program in which select customers are handed pre-release software to play around with under the condition that they shut up about it.
