13-inch MacBook Pro with Retina display now starts at $1,499 (€1,112)

Minutes ago, Apple released a press statement to announce that the company is cutting the prices on its notebook computers, while adding faster processors.

The MacBook Pro with Retina display is now both faster and more affordable, Apple says. The 13-inch version now starts at $1,499 (€1,112) for 128GB of flash, and $1,699 (€1,260) for a new 2.6 GHz processor and 256GB of flash.

The 15-inch MacBook Pro with Retina display now comes with a 2.4 GHz quad-core processor. The high-end version boasts a 2.7 GHz quad-core processor and 16GB of memory. According to Apple, “The MacBook Pro with Retina display features the world’s highest resolution notebook display.”

“Whether you’re reading emails, writing text, editing home movies in HD or retouching professional photography, everything appears vibrant, detailed and sharp, delivering an unrivaled viewing experience,” says the Mac maker.

Finally, the 13-inch MacBook Air with 256GB of flash is now priced at $1,399 (€1,038). The new prices are effective immediately.
