Just a couple a days ago, the Mac App Store Editors launched the "Back to School" list for the new 2014 students. Now we have a similar selection of apps for iPhone and iPad.

The App Store editors have chosen three different categories to split this new list: "Apps Made by Apple," "Master Your Major," and "Get Organized," totalling well over 50 apps.

The Apple-made apps are, as expected, part of the iWork and iLife suite. They work just as good on any size iOS device and will help the students write their homework, crunch some numbers, make a movie or organize their photos.

Besides the above-named suites, Apple promotes the iTunes U app for iOS as one of the best ways to get homework assigned from your teachers, learn something by reading or watching a video course, and even have instant access to the world's largest catalog of free education. The Podcasts app makes an interesting appearance, but we know you have to keep your brain busy on the way to work.

The "Master Your Major" category holds a great selection of mostly free apps. These are not textbooks or mandatory school readings, so you are going to find something to tickle your imagination. One of the best apps that does that is TED. It gives you access to a world of geniuses or just regular people who have something to say. TED is a conference that takes place around the world. Those talks are being recorded and then added to the iPhone app. There are over 1,700 TEDTalk Videos in the app right now and you can choose your favorites or let the app give you something to think about.

Another excellent addition is Codeacademy app. This will get you started on one of the most profitable business in the recent years – independent programming. It has been described as the best way to start from zero, and the video tutorials and examples will surely help you get better in no time.

The last category has some really useful apps to get you organized. You do not want to miss Evernote for iOS. This is the so-called everything drawer that you can use to store school documents, PDFs and any other kind of picture or text file. The app will apply Optical Character Recognition (OCR) on every file so you can just use the search box to find your documents.

Check out all the apps in this selection and don't forget to pack your iPad when you leave for school.
