Reports are coming in saying that Apple has decided to provide more support for iPhone developers through the introduction of an App Store Resource Center. In an e-mail sent to registered iPhone developers, Apple confirms that the new site (within the iPhone Dev Center) will be dedicated to assisting devs in various aspects surrounding the App Store.

According to a MacRumors report, Apple sent out the following message to registered iPhone developers:

We are pleased to introduce the App Store Resource Center, a single destination designed to make it easier for you to find details on everything you need to know about distributing your app on the App Store – from how to prepare for app submission to managing your app once it's been posted.

Make sure you also check out the News and Announcements section of the iPhone Dev Center for tips on submitting your apps to the App Store, turnaround time for app review, new program features, and guidance on everything from development and testing to distribution and marketing.

Not surprisingly, the iPhone Developer Connection page on Apple’s website is showing a “We’ll be back soon” sign, followed by Apple’s typical message informing visitors that the site is being updated: “We are busy updating the site. Please check back soon.”

Since the introduction of the App Store, Apple has been widely criticized for the lack of transparency between it and iPhone developers, as well as for the application-approval process and other practices surrounding the online distribution service of iPhone and iPod touch applications. The company’s initiative to launch an App Store Resource Center is going to be most appreciated in iPhone-developer circles. Although Apple markets the App Store as being a highly successful business for the Mac maker and developers alike, a small percentage of iPhone devs has been able to turn big profits thus far.
