A hefty dose of Apple tidbits are coming out of Japan’s Macotakara this weekend, including one particularly interesting allegation that Apple will, in fact, call the iPad mini just that – “iPad mini.”

Citing an Asian source (naturally), the sometimes-reliable blog says “the name of Apple’s new product, which are expected to have 7’85’ and called as iPad mini, will be named as ‘iPad mini’ officially.”

Furthermore, the source said Apple would place an “iPad” inscription on the back of the device, much like it does with its popular line of portable players – the iPod. The source concluded from this finding that “one new product will be added on iPad’s product brand genre.”

Apple is reportedly holding not one, but two major product launch events this fall, starting with the iPhone 5 in September and ending with an iPod refresh and the iPad mini launch in October.
