Apple has started sending out emails to those subscribed to its newsfeed encouraging them to shop Apple this year, and make the perfect gift. In usual Apple manner, the company headquartered at 1 Infinite Loop, Cupertino, California, advertises the iPhone as a box full of surprises, making it the perfect “box” to put under the tree this year.

“With tens of thousands of apps on the App Store and more added every day, iPhone is much more than a phone – it’s a gift that can do just about anything,” Apple’s email goes. To make it even easier for folks to offer an iPhone as a gift, Apple says that the iPhone Gift Card is the easiest way to give the iPhone, since it also allows the receiver to select a desired plan and set up their iPhone just the way they want it.

It would have been a nice touch to drop the iPhone’s price this time around, but everyone knows that’s not Apple’s signature. Instead, the company simply threw in more gift suggestions, as if customers had drawn a blank until the email had arrived.

Jokes aside, Apple claims to have the latest accessories to make the iPhone an even better gift. “Check out our Online Holiday Gift Guide to find other great ideas for everyone on your list. And get fast, free shipping on everything in the store through the holidays,” the email reads. Highlights include the Plantronics Discovery 875 Bluetooth Headset, the Sirius XM SkyDock, the iHome iP88 Dual Dock (holds an iPhone and an iPod), and iTunes Gift Cards.

And, as every year goes, Apple also encourages those who buy an iPod as a gift to slap a personalized engraving on it. All iPod models qualify, while engravings are free of charge. You can submit your message-to-be-engraved as you are ordering the device via Apple’s online store. Since engraved orders can't be returned, the company asks that customers make sure everything is spelled correctly.
