Apple is preparing to finally flood the market with its own big-screen TVs next year, according to an analyst at Advanced Research.

Speaking to Bloomberg, Advanced Research analyst Masahiko Ishino says Apple is still deciding on the specs, but that the plan is to deploy “ultra-high definition televisions with 65- and 55-inch screens during the fourth quarter of next year.” Ishino didn’t say who gave him the intel.

The analyst notes that Apple will be sourcing the big displays from Samsung and LG, while Corning (with its Gorilla Glass 3) is likely to supply “the cover.”

The pricing will be $1,500 / €1,000 to $2,500 / €1,830, Ishino says. Foxconn will be the final assembler, according to the man.

Apple has been rumored to introduce this big-screen TV for a few years now, yet the company is still selling its $99/€99 Apple TV set-top box with great success.
