After the recent launch of Watchever in Germany, Apple has pushed an update to owners of its $99/€99 set top box today to offer movie and TV shows from ABC, BBC, HBO, and others.

German customers will be able to watch entire seasons of US TV series and full-length films for a fixed price of 8.99 euros per month (about 12 bucks). Apple TV owners will have to option to request a free trial period of 30 days to decide whether or not they want in.

Vivendi, the company behind the service, promises that the Watchever registration is simple and the subscription can be terminated on a month-to-month basis.

Subscribers will be granted access to top titles from almost all major US and German studios, and they’ll be able to choose between the German dubbed version and the original version. Most of the films are offered in high-definition (HD) quality.

Vivendi says, “There are so many titles for children and adults available anytime that one would have to watch the films 24/7 for much longer than a year in order to watch everything.”
