Although every iPad comes with one year of hardware repair coverage and up to 90 days of complimentary support through its included warranty, Apple encourages buyers of the new Retina display tablet device to opt for the AppleCare+ package.

The new AppleCare+ for iPad extends the customer’s coverage to two years from the original purchase date. Apple covers most of the costs for two accidental damages, but does charge a $49 service fee.

AppleCare+ provides one-stop service and support from Apple experts, so you can call them up and ask for assistance, free of charge.

Software support is also included. You can ring Apple to ask about using iOS and iCloud, connecting to wireless networks, or to ask questions about FaceTime, Keynote, Numbers, Pages, and other Apple-branded iPad apps.

It is important to note that AppleCare+ must be purchased within 30 days of the date you bought your new iPad.
