Apple has unveiled a redesigned version of iTunes which includes a streamlined user interface, better navigation tools, and a mini player that detaches from the main window.

During the iPhone 5 keynote presentation on September 12, Apple unveiled an all-new version of iTunes to the world. Apple fans drooled over the few slides presented by Eddy Cue hoping the release would come at the end of the show.

However, Apple said we had to wait until October.

“The new iTunes is coming in October and will feature a dramatically simpler and cleaner interface that keeps your favorite iTunes content at the forefront,” the company said.

But the new features make the wait all the more exciting.

It has a completely redesigned player, seamless integration with iCloud, and a fresh new look for the online music, apps, TV and movie stores it houses.

“With iCloud integration, your music, movie and TV purchases made on any of your iOS devices or computers is conveniently displayed in your iTunes library on your Mac or PC, available anytime you want them,” says Apple.

Developers had already tipped off the media that Apple was redesigning the iTunes Store, App Store and iBookstore.

Apple now says they’ve been “rethought” to make the purchase experience simpler than ever.

The coolest feature, we think, is the all-new MiniPlayer which seems to make it a lot easier to control your music. Have a look below (image credits: The Verge)

The main benefit is that you no longer have to open your library.

And there’s an all-new “Up Next” feature which Apple describes as “a fun new way to see what songs are coming up and queue songs or albums you want to hear next.”

We can’t wait to get our hands on iTunes 11 in October. Check out the images and tell us what you think.
