In what is a first for the company headquartered at One Infinite Loop, Cupertino, California, the Apple website is now advertising iPhone 4 accessories that “dress-up” the device. These are not crafted by third-party companies, but by Apple itself. They are called Bumpers, and they slip over the stainless-steel edge of the iPhone 4 to “add a touch of style to any iPhone 4.”

Six models are currently being advertised (white, black, blue, green, orange, or pink). Apple is not featuring these accessories in its online store just yet (hence no price is given), but an official description for the products is provided on the iPhone 4 specs page, under accessories.

“Dress up your iPhone 4 with a Bumper,” Apple says. “Choose one of six colors — white, black, blue, green, orange, or pink — and slip it around the edge of your iPhone 4. With metal buttons for volume and power, two-tone colors, and a combination of rubber and molded plastic, Bumpers add a touch of style to any iPhone 4.” The iPhone maker actually introduced the Bumbers at WWDC10, towards the end of the Steve Jobs keynote address that saw the official unveiling of iPhone 4.

Apple was recently said to be phasing out third-party cases from its online store, but the company still sells a select few models for iPhone and iPod touch. For example, the Hurley Hardshell Slider Case for iPod touch (2nd Generation) can still be acquired for $29.95 from the Apple online store. The case features a hardshell plastic exterior that is very slim. It provides complete functionality and protection of a 2nd-generation iPod touch.

Other accessories listed by Apple on the aforementioned tech-specs page include the Apple In-Ear Headphones with Remote and Mic, the Apple USB Power Adapter, the Apple Dock Connector to USB Cable, the Apple Dock Connector to VGA Adapter, the iPhone TTY Adapter, the Apple Component AV Cable, the Apple Composite AV Cable, AirPort Extreme Base Station, Nike + iPod Sensor, World Travel Adapter Kit, and even the MobileMe Subscription is listed under accessories for iPhone 4.
