Apple has recently released the ProKit 5.0 software update addressing UI reliability in applications including Final Cut Studio, Motion, Soundtrack Pro, DVD Studio Pro, Aperture, Final Cut Express HD, Soundtrack, Logic Pro, etc.

On the Support section of its website, Apple describes the ProKit 5.0 update as being able to improve general user interface reliability for some of the company's professional applications. As such, the update is recommended for all users of Final Cut Studio, Final Cut Server, Final Cut Pro, Motion, Soundtrack Pro, DVD Studio Pro, Aperture, Final Cut Express HD, Soundtrack, Logic Pro and Logic Express, Apple says.

Posted July 23, 2009, the ProKit 5.0 update weighs in at 18MB and requires Mac OS X 10.5 (Leopard) or later. Supported languages include Deutsch, English, Français, etc.

Apple has also updated two of its professional applications recently, adding more than a hundred new features to Final Cut Studio and major upgrades to Logic Pro and MainStage. In what Apple touts as “a significant update to Final Cut Studio,” new versions of Final Cut Pro, Motion, Soundtrack Pro, Color and Compressor were also added.

Final Cut Studio features Final Cut Pro 7, which expands Apple’s ProRes codec family to support virtually any workflow. The software includes Easy Export for one-step output to multiple formats and iChat Theater support for real-time collaboration, the company has revealed.

For the new version of Logic Studio, Apple added major upgrades to Logic Pro and MainStage and more than 200 new features that simplify complex tasks. The Mac maker stated last month that Logic Pro 9 was available with a new Amp Designer and Pedalboard plug-ins that provided realistic, virtual guitar amps and stompbox effects to create quality custom guitar rigs.
