CEO Tim Cook and CFO Peter Oppenheimer to host the conference

Apple is holding a special conference call today, Monday, March 19th, 2012, to discuss the best ways to use the company’s 100 billion dollars.

The call will be hosted by Tim Cook, Apple’s chief executive officer, and Peter Oppenheimer, Apple’s chief financial officer. The purpose: “to announce the outcome of the Company’s discussions concerning its cash balance.”

The Mac maker’s media alert specifically states that “Apple will not be providing an update on the current quarter nor will any topics be discussed other than cash.” The call will be held Monday, March 19, 2012 at 6:00 a.m. PDT/9:00 a.m. EDT, according to the statement.

Apple will provide live audio streaming of its conference call using QuickTime. The live webcast will begin at 6:00 a.m. PDT at www.apple.com/quicktime/qtv/call31912. The call will also be available for replay.
