A new job opening at Apple has been spotted online. The Mac maker is looking for someone to become its iBookstore Marketing Manager  “to drive awareness and sales of iBooks through co-marketing programs with publishers and authors, strategic partnerships, and via online and direct marketing tactics.”

This person will be tasked with integrating iBookstore into all facets of marketing campaigns for key book releases.

This includes web, social networking, print, on-air, events, promotions, pr, grass roots, and more, Apple says.

“Identify new iBookstore marketing opportunities and develop new programs to drive awareness and sales,” another responsibility is described.

The new recruit will watch the progress of all campaigns and marketing initiatives up close, and will communicate the results to cross-functional teams, Apple notes.

“Work with iTunes Movies, TV, Apps, and Music Marketing teams to drive cross-merchandising opportunities,” the list of tasks continues.

“Recommend action, schedule and plan projects, estimate cost, and manage projects to completion.”

Finally, the Marketing Manager for iBookstore will communicate and champion objectives and priorities as they relate to larger Apple marketing initiatives.

Here, Apple mentions PR, retail, Marcom, iTunes Music Marketing, and iTunes Online Marketing.

Apple outlines that the company only wants someone who is “an entrepreneurial self-starter with the creativity and enthusiasm to deliver innovative, impactful, and cost-effective programs to help build the iBooks business in the US.”

Moreover, the employee tasked with marketing the iBookstore will need to combine such skills with the ability to drive partner marketing negotiations with media partners and publishers.

The candidate will need to posses “a deep and thorough understanding of the publishing industry”, as well as to have a passion for both traditional and digital media.

Apple ideally seeks a person with “a vision of what the technology will bring about and the ability to help navigate the transition.”
