PRWeek reports that Apple has poached Josh Rosenstock from Rolls-Royce to use him to strengthen its corporate affairs. Rosenstock will reportedly answer to Alan Hely, Apple’s current senior director of corporate communications in EMEIA (Apple Europe).

Citing a source with knowledge on the matter, the publication reports that “the ‘heavyweight’ hire was a reflection of Apple’s desire to grow its corporate affairs capabilities as it becomes increasingly drawn into global regulatory and political issues.”

Apple has been the target of several major lawsuits involving taxes, pricing, and most recently cash management with a potential impact on its investors’ bottom lines.

Another source working in the same field as Rosenstock reportedly added, “This is an acknowledgement from Apple there’s a need for wider horsepower when it comes to links with Whitehall stakeholders.”
