Symantec’s accountant, Phillip A. Bullock, has left for Apple Inc. to lead the Mac maker’s tax department, according to an SEC filing unveiled today.

Business Insider says “Apple poached Symantec's SVP and chief accounting officer Phillip Bullock to run its tax department,” but regards the hiring news as relatively insignificant. With tens of billions in the bank and a market cap that’s just shot past the $600 billion mark, you can hardly call any news about Apple’s money “small”.

According to the SEC filing in question, “Phillip A. Bullock, who was appointed as Symantec’s Chief Accounting Officer in September 2009, announced he will be leaving the Company to lead the tax department at Apple, Inc., and not due to any disagreement with the Company on any matters relating to the Company’s operations, policies or practices.”
