Productivity Monday is full of clocks, for some strange reason

After a few weeks full of calendars and quick launchers, the AppStore editors have chosen a theme that has to do with Productivity, but it is also related to watches. Is that because Apple is about to release a smartwatch?

The new selection has only four apps, but they are good Clock.app replacements. This kind of apps will only show you the clock, but they will add features that will make your work more productive.

Globo – World clock and weather

The first on the AppStore editors list today is Globo. This 99 cents (€0.76 ) app has been named since its release: new and Noteworthy, Apple Editor's Choice and Apple Best New Apps. And all of that because of a few good reasons. First of all, Globo has a really good custom design. No stock icons and widgets from Xcode will be seen in here.

The app has little functionality, but it's good if you are a frequent traveler or if you depend on people in different time zones. For example, you can find out quick answers to questions like: What time is it in Tokyo? Or what will be the time in Melbourne if in Miami it's 9:42AM.

Tap on a city name and you will be taken to a page that shows a detailed weather report. You will see the temperature, sunset and sunrise time, humidity, pressure, clouds, wind and others.

Synchronize, Watzon, and Time.is

Next up is a free app. This one also features a custom interface and it has also got some awards over the time. Synchronize is a time shifting app that allows the user to check and project time across multiple timezones.

You basically have to make a list of locations that you need to follow, and on top you are going to see the Local Time. At the bottom of the screen, there's a dial that you can use to set the desired time. All the other locations shift time according to your settings.

Watzon does everything the above app is doing for Free, but you can pay a one-time $1.99 (€1.54) fee to get a reminder. You can set the cities you want and ask the app to remind you when a certain one gets to 2pm, for example. The app comes with an interesting interface and lots of colors to suit your taste.

And last, we have an app made for iPad. Time.is will set you back $0.99 (€0.76) and it can turn your iPad into a table or wall clock. The app syncs with atomic clock time and you can get instant time conversion in over 7 million locations around the world. The user gets, among others, a dark/light mode, several time and date formats, alarm clock, sunrise and sunset times.

You can try them all now, or just wait for the iWatch.
