Don’t get your hopes up for a “blinged-out gold,” source says

“Yes, there will be a gold iPhone,” according to the well-connected MG Siegler, who claims that several sources have confirmed to him the rumors about the so-called golden iPhone 5S.

Apple is breaking away from the duochrome iPhone range this year, and that includes both the rumored iPhone 5C and the more predictable iPhone 5S.

At least, that’s what people in the industry are saying, and the aforementioned MG Siegler is no exception.

Following weeks of rumors and leaks that seemed to back the golden iPhone theory, “a few compelling arguments countered my disbelief,” he says. “And now, upon checking, sure enough, there will be gold.”

Siegler cautions that soon-to-be buyers shouldn’t get their hopes up for blinged-out gold, but rather for a “champagne” nuance.

Apple is expected to unveil this phone, and a lower-priced version made of plastic, on September 10.
