Yesterday, through an e-mail sent to various media sources, Apple has invited the press to its Cupertino, California headquarters.
The event is scheduled to take place on the 28th of February at the Apple Town Hall, Building 4 at 10am PST. Unlike previous invitations, which hinted at what was about to be released, the current invitation
is 100 percent mysterious, including nothing more than the date, location, an image of the iCal calendar of the date and the words "Come see some fun new products from Apple."
In terms of what might be showcased at the event, there are many possibilities. The Mac line could be renewed with a new Mac Mini, a 17-inch Macbook Pro, the new Intel-based iBooks, maybe even the Intel PowerMacs. The iPod line could be expanded with the rumored touch screen iPod, whose display would cover the entire face of the device. Or it could be the often-mentioned Mac Media Hub Mini that goes under the name of Kaleidoscope.
Then again, it could have nothing to do with hardware whatsoever and be a sneak peak at the next version of OS X, Leopard, or some new Apple software.
There certainly is no shortage of potential Apple products that could be announced, but most likely we will have to wait until next Tuesday to see exactly what Apple is coming out with. One thing is for certain, this week we will be seeing a lot of rumors.
