It has been confirmed that Seattle-based puzzle games publisher Big Fish Games is the first to exercise a subscription plan that allows casual gamers to access to dozens of titles for $6.99 a month through a single iPad app.

Games are generally available as standalone downloads on the iTunes App Store, which means that customers usually need to make separate downloads for the games they want to play from Big Fish.

Not anymore, according to Paul Thelen, the founder of Big Fish: “This is the first time that the technology has matched the business model,” he said.

The system is similar to that of Netflix - customers get unlimited access to games like “Mystery Case Files” and the “Mahjong Towers” from inside the mother-app. Upon accessing a game for the first time, players need to be connected to the Internet.
