After Ad Age broke news yesterday that Apple was going to better compensate developers running iAds on its iOS platforms, the company has now formally acknowledged the change in an official statement.

An update on the News and Announcements section for developers on Apple’s site reads: “iAd Introduces Higher Revenue Share for Developers.”

The text body reveals that the iAd mobile advertising network, which “provides a simple and compelling way to generate additional revenue from your apps,” is now raising developers’ revenue share to 70 percent.

The Mac maker confirms that “The new revenue share goes into effect automatically on April 1 for all developers in the iAd Network.”

For those who haven’t yet hopped on the iAd wagon, Apple provides this handy link to learn how to get started with iAd.
